Help in the Credit Crunch

These last few months have been a time of uncertainty for many working within Canary Wharf and the City and it will continue to be so for the foreseeable future, as more redundancies are announced it seems each week. For many it continues to be very stressful and this can be hard to handle, presenting new challenges.

Such as:

• Not had the expected bonus, will I cope financially? Who can I talk to about this?

• Uncertain job security

• Worried about how soon we can get another job if our job is made redundant now

• Anxiety that you don’t want to show to others

• Having to make decisions that we know will affect our colleagues job security

• Is there something more besides working and spending money?

Who can I talk to confidentially?

• the Chaplain – as it helps to talk to someone who is outside the situation but who cares

• a Counsellor, either through your company if provided or externally

• a person who specialises in helping people face debt problems

• others who have been through the redundancy process

What else?

• Eat properly and take exercise

• Spend time having fun with family and friends

And you will find that you are not the only one who is facing new challenges in the present economic climate.
